Did you know that Prairie Island Indian Community has an amazing Buffalo Farm? They do! It's called the Edwin W. Buck Jr Veteran Memorial Buffalo Project, located on Prairie Island.

Would you like to learn more about the project and the role the Buffalo has had in teaching and preserving the Dakota culture?

Two free tours are available: 11:00 am - 12 noon & 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

No reservations are required. Bring your lawn chairs.

North on Hwy 61

Turn Right on County Road 18

Continue through 3 way Stop Sign

Turn Left on Prairie Island Blvd at Buffalo Project Sign

Continue on Prairie Island Blvd for 2 Miles

Look for Parking Signs


Directions from Hastings:

South on Hwy 316

Turn Left on County Road 18

Turn Right on Prairie Island Blvd at Buffalo Project Sign

Continue on Prairie Island Blvd for 2 Miles

Directions from Hwy 52::

Turn South on Hwy 50/61 towards Red Wing

Turn Left on County Road 18

Continue through 3 way Stop Sign

Turn Left on Prairie Island Blvd at Buffalo Project Sign
